Tracking Turtle Strandings Hundreds of sea turtles are stranded each year off the coast
of North Carolina. Volunteers from the Network for
Endangered Sea Turtles (NEST) and other
organizations monitor strandings in order to better
understand turtle conservation. These groups also work to
rehabilitate, and return to the ocean, as many as possible.

Outer Banks Sea Turtle Update: August 2010 Sea turtle activity on the Outer Banks of North Carolina is increasing. There
was a rare daytime hatching on Nest #1, and Nest#2a rare Kemp's ridley
nestyielded just six hatchlings. But, there are more nests to come!

the locations of three satellite-tagged sea turtles released on 15 February
