by Mark MacAllister

Dr. Mike Loomis and the Cameroon-based elephant collaring team have completed the Summer 2010 elephant collaring mission. The team spent six weeks in the field, beginning in Korup National Park. The team then moved on to Mt. Cameroon and then returned to Korup.

UPDATE: 9 JULY 2010: A family emergency has called Dr. Loomis home to the United States. The team's work in northern Korup has been cut short, and a planned trip to Ngoila-Mintom will be rescheduled.

FIELD JOURNALS ONLINE: Dr. Loomis's detailed field journals are now available on the following pages of this article. As well, his daily field diaries are found on the Elephants of Cameroon homepage.
